The NISTR project team continues to develop the new NISTR solution. Initial feedback from teachers, school users, principals, trade unions and other key stakeholders involved in the development have been extremely positive to date.  For early insight into the new NISTR functionality, we have created two videos:

Information for Supply Teachers

Supply Teacher Timeline

Book a Supply Teacher Training Session

Online training sessions for the new NISTR solution are now available to book for Supply Teachers. Training sessions will take place in August.

  • Training will take place prior to the start of the academic year from 9th – 12th August, morning and afternoon sessions will be available.
  • The training session will take place via MS Teams Webinar and will provide an end-to-end walkthrough of the new solution.   
  • The training sessions will last no longer than 1.5 hours. Users only need to register for one session as the same content will be covered across all.

NISTR will be unavailable for bookings and registration from 4th August 2022

There will be no NISTR provision for teachers from the 4th August- 15th August to facilitate the data migration and cutover to the new NISTR solution. Relevant data including new bookings will be transferred from the old to the new system. Schools will not have access to the new solution to make bookings until 22nd August to allow time for teachers to update their accounts and populate their availability.

If you have not registered with NISTR yet, please register on the current system as soon as possible (before 3rd August) to ensure you receive important email communications and to allow for all compliance checks to be processed in time for the start of the academic year (this can take up to 9 weeks). NISTR Supply Teacher Go Live

The new NISTR Solution is expected to Go Live for Teachers on the 15th August, the Go Live date for Schools is 22nd August. 

It is important that all Supply Teachers log in to the solution between the dates 15th  - 22nd August to reset their password, review and update their profile and set their availability status. It is vital that your profile and availability is updated to ensure schools can contact you for bookings at the start of the academic school year. More details on how to do this will be included in the training sessions.  

An online Drop-in Clinic for Supply Teachers will be available from the 15th August for any questions or issues users may have with the new NISTR solution. Users will also be provided with details on FAQs, quick reference guides, bitesize videos, and other helpful information prior to Go Live.

School User Timeline

Book a School User Training Session

Online training sessions for the new NISTR solution are now available to book for School Users. Training sessions will take place in August and it is recommended school or EA Service users i.e. those staff with responsibility for booking Supply Teachers, attend these online sessions.   

  • Training will take place prior to the start of the academic year from  22nd -  26th August, morning and afternoon sessions will be available.   
  • The training session will take place via MS Teams Webinar and will provide an end-to-end walkthrough of the new solution.     
  • The training sessions will last no longer than 2 hours, users only need to register for one session as the same content will be covered across all.     
  • Users will be required to book onto a preferred session through the NISTR Website
