New NISTR is coming soon

A new NISTR solution is due to launch for the new academic year 2022/23 for the benefit of all supply teachers and school users.  

We have provided some important information and key points of interest about the transition from the current NISTR to the new solution below.   
 
NISTR Rebranding

We are very excited to announce the name of NISTR will be changing to ‘Northern Ireland Supply Teacher Register’. The new name and logo were developed in collaboration with the NISTR Working Group which includes representation from Supply Teachers, School Users, Trade unions, Education Authority, and other key stakeholders. Please look out for the new logo displayed on all future communications, in addition to the new solution interface.

What will the new NISTR look like?

The new NISTR solution is in continued development and initial feedback from teachers, school users, principals, trade unions and other key stakeholders has been extremely positive.

NISTR will be unavailable for bookings and registration from 4th August 2022

There will be no NISTR provision for schools or supply teachers from the 4th August - 22nd August to facilitate the data migration and cutover to the new NISTR solution. The solution will be unavailable to process bookings or to complete user registration. Relevant data including new bookings will be transferred from the old to the new solution. 

Important Note to Schools: Please ensure that any supply teacher bookings required over the summer months are booked in NISTR prior to 4th August.    

Important Note to New TeachersIf you are a newly qualified teacher or have not registered with NISTR yet, please register as soon as possible to ensure you receive important email communications and to allow for all compliance checks to be processed in time for the start of the academic year (this can take up to 9 weeks). New NISTR Go Live

The new NISTR Solution is expected to Go Live for Teachers on the 15th August, the Go Live date for Schools is 22nd August.   

All teachers will be required to log in to the solution between the dates 15th – 22nd August to reset their password, review and update their profile and set their availability status. Schools will be able to compete bookings and access the solution on the 22nd August.  

Important Note to Supply Teachers: It is vital that your profile and availability is updated to ensure schools can contact you for bookings at the start of the academic school year. More details on how to do this will be included in the training sessions and future communications. 
Online Drop-in Clinics will be available at Go Live for teachers and school users to raise questions or issues users may have with the new NISTR solution. Users will also be provided with details on FAQs, how to guides/ training guides and other helpful information prior to Go Live.  Further details regarding online drop in clinics will be provided closer to Go Live.  

Book on to a User Familiarisation and Adoption Session

Online ‘Familiarisation and Adoption’ sessions for the new NISTR solution have been established and will take place in the last weeks of June for Supply Teachers and School users. The aim of these sessions is to familiarise users with the new solution and the development to date.  The sessions will provide an overview of available features and benefits the solution will bring to all users.

Book on to a User Training Session

Online training sessions for the new NISTR solution are now available to book. Training sessions will take place in August, it is recommended that all supply teachers and school users i.e. those staff with responsibility for booking supply teachers, attend these online sessions.    

  • Training will take place prior to the start of the academic year from 9th – 12th August for supply teachers, and 22nd -  26th August for School Users. Morning and afternoon sessions will be available.  
  • The training session will take place via MS Teams Webinar and will provide an end to end walk through of the new solution.    
  • The training sessions will last no longer than 2 hours for school users and 1.5 hours for supply teachers. Users only need to register for one session as the same content will be covered across all.

Important: Please register for a training session as soon as possible to secure your preferred date.  
 
Interested in User Acceptance Training?

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) will take place on the new NISTR solution. Testing will be completed by users of the solution i.e. supply teachers and school users to ensure the solution performs as expected prior to Go Live. We are actively recruiting Testers to support with UAT.    

  • If you or any of your staff are interested in taking part, please contact edisinfo@eani.org.uk   
  • Testers will be required to attend in person or remote sessions to complete the testing and will only be required for the sessions for which they are available between the 25th July – 10th August. Further information will be provided on receipt of your interest.
