Following the decision to extend the current period of school closures until 8 March 2021, it has been agreed that the Income Support Scheme will be extended until that date.
You can apply to the Scheme if you:
- have worked as a substitute teacher in Northern Ireland in September, October, November or December 2020
- have lost the opportunity for income as a substitute teacher in Northern Ireland through the current period of school closures due to COVID-19
- are available to work as a substitute teacher, if required, in January, February and March 2021. (If you are unavailable to work as a result of following PHA advice, you may still apply to the scheme).
Applications will not be accepted from teachers who have previously retired and are in receipt of a teachers’ pension.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you should complete and submit your application as quickly as possible.
NOTE: If you have already submitted an application, you are not required to take any further action.
